Some people only focus on one. But balance is the key. They are all important and each part you strengthen, strengthens the others.

Your “Why”
Before you start you must have a big reason
“why” you are doing this business.

Explain to your team leader a big reason “why” you are doing this business. Make it bigger than just making extra income.

If it’s just about extra income, you should be able to find a job that will be far easier to create that extra money you need.

If your “why” does not really effect you emotionally (we like to say if it doesn’t make you cry) then it may not be a big enough reason to motivate you to create the financial leverage that it takes. You will be needing to motivate others and this requires passion and skill.

Think about this: One can spend four years going to college and not even be able to make six-figures a year. With this opportunity, you have the chance to spend less time studying, learning and building your business and have the opportunity to create a six figure income or more.

My “why” is that I want to be able to free up my wife from working and so that we can travel the world and take our business with us. So that we are not locked into having to be in any one particular place except that it have an internet connection. I went to be able to have enough money to retire with and give to my children.

That dream has helped me weather years of only making a little money here and there until I finally figured out how to make consistent income online. And we will show this to you also.

Many people trying to earn an online income spend their time searching for the “magic” program, just like Ponce de Leon searched for the fountain of youth. They jump from program to program when they get little or no results, blaming the programs and hoping that the next one might be “the one”.

That is why you see the same people seemingly having success with everything they promote. They don’t have the Mida’s Touch, they just understood that they needed to develop the key skills to be successful in themselves, rather than relying on a program.

It is our suggestion that you be spending time each day learning the critical foundations of online marketing in today’s landscape. You can read book or blogs, watch educational videos on YouTube, or listen to audio books or podcasts. Listen in your car on the way to work, or wake up an hour earlier each day and devote that first hour to your education.

This time is more important than looking for programs or generating traffic to your existing programs that aren’t working. More traffic or more programs will not fix the problem if you haven’t learned how to influence and motivate people.
.
Your past choices about how you spent your time, where you focused your energy, and what skills you developed have led you to the place you are right now.
.
It couldn’t lead you anywhere else.
.
.If you want a different destination, then you need to start spending your time differently, focusing on different things, and developing different skills.
.
This is why we spend as much time on training and coaching those who want online success. It takes programs and education to be successful. You need good programs backed by the knowledge of how to maximize them. And you also need determination. Read this true story and you will see what we mean:
The Boy Who Never Gave Up
.
So you’ve got a goal to build your Internet business to a certain level by a certain time frame. You do have that goal, correct? If not, you might want to stop reading for a moment and make that goal right now before you proceed any further. After all… “If you don’t know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else.” ~Lawrence J. Peter
.
Now then, you’ve got your goal – so what else do you need to succeed? Perhaps the following story will give you the clue… On the tough South Side of Chicago back in 1908, there lived a six year old boy and his widowed mother. Money was tight, so this boy (we’ll call him W.) got a job selling newspapers. The problem was all the older kids took over the good corners for selling papers. They yelled louder than W. could, and they threatened W. with a beating if he tried to sell his papers anywhere near them. But W. had already purchased a stack of papers to resell, and if he didn’t sell them he’d be out his pennies. So what did he do? What would you have done if you were 6 and couldn’t sell your papers where the other boys sold theirs? You guessed it – he looked for a different location. Not a better corner – those were all taken.
.
Instead, he remembered this restaurant he and him mom often walked past. It was called Hoelle’s Restaurant, and it was always packed. Of course to W. going inside all by himself was frightening, as he’d never been in a fancy restaurant in his life. He was scared and nervous, so before he could talk himself out of it, he hurriedly walked inside and made a lucky sale at the very first table, and then more sales at the second and the third tables. On his way to the fourth table, Mr. Hoelle grabbed W. and roughly shoved him out the front door. So what do you suppose W. did? He gave up and went someplace else, right? Actually, no.
.
He waited until Mr. Hoelle wasn’t looking and walked right back in. The customer at the fourth table was so pleased with W.’s gumption that he paid for the paper and gave W. and extra dime before Mr. Hoelle pushed W. back out the door again. Now, most 6 year olds would be satisfied with selling four papers and getting a tip besides. But not W. He walked right back in and resumed selling again. By now nearly the entire restaurant was rooting for him, and when Mr. Hoelle tried to escort him back out one of the customers whispered to let him be, which Mr. Hoelle begrudgingly did. About 5 minutes later, W. had sold all of his papers. The next evening? W. was back, and Mr. Hoelle was ready to give him the bum’s rush out the front door. But no sooner had Mr. Hoelle pushed W. out the door, than W. popped right back in again. Throwing up his hands Mr. Hoelle said, “What’s the use?” and later the two became great friends. So who was W.? None other than W. Clement Stone who would go on to turn $100 into millions and be the proponent of “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

He also gave $275 million to charity over the course of his 100 year life. So what is it that you need to succeed? Certainly you need a goal, and you also need the same persistence and perseverance that W. Clement Stone displayed as a frightened but determined 6 year old boy.

And that’s not all we can learn from 6 year old W. His motivation was high because he and his mother needed the money. He’d already invested his pennies in buying the newspapers, and there was no refund for unsold papers. W. was afraid to enter the restaurant but he pushed right through that fear before it could get the best of him. He knew he might get embarrassed by going back into the restaurant after being thrown out, but he did it anyway because he was determined to sell those papers. W. knew that achieving the goal was more important than the risk of being laughed at. And he learned what to say by listening to the older boys. Young W. couldn’t even read the papers he was selling, but by repeating what the other boys said in a softer voice, he quickly learned the technique for selling papers in restaurants. He had the motivation, the determination, the skills and persistence. Coupled with his goal, it was almost impossible for him to fail. Just think – if that 6 year old boy could do all that on his first day of selling newspapers – what can you do today?

That is the true magic formula for success.

However, having said that it is also important to know that you can be persistent too, learn the skills to succeed and build your business on marketing principles that truly work.

Duplication & Advertising

Let’s talk about how your advertising is going and
our strategy with the Power of One. Here’s some things to think about:
.
1) How big is your list now?
2) How many people have you talked to?
3) How has the strategy with the “Non Magic Formula” been working for you?
.
Here’s some additional pointers to help you:
1) As you keep brainstorming and getting your list closer to 100, you will come across people who are looking for an opportunity – I promise you.
.
2) In order to succeed, you have to get over F.E.A.R (False. Evidence. Appearing. Real). Honestly, the only way you will know if someone is looking, is to ask them and start the process of CONTACTING (#1) them. Remember, you only need to ask them the question to see if they qualify. You don’t need to share the presentation (please don’t do the presentation). Have your link ready to give them if they qualify and are open to making extra money. Let your link do the heavy lifting.

3) In order to get good at anything, you have to be bad first. You have to practice over and over. And in order to do this you just HAVE TO DO IT. And don’t forget that while you’re working on contacting others, practice advertising online too. You don’t know if your first person who will join you will come from your warm list or your cold but the odds at first support your warm list.
.
However, eventually you will need to learn how to become skillful at connecting with your cold list either by network marketing or by online marketing (ads online) so that you can keep bringing in more and more people to your team! For example: If you’re in GDI Team Elite, then sure we will help you (if you participate in helping the team by getting a 1000 hits a week and going through the Steps consistently) but eventually when we help you get your six members and you become a team leader you will need to learn how to help others on your own to get new members and you won’t be able to do that unless you practice a lot and keep getting better at advertising. So no matter if you’re in GDI, PMS or PLS, you have to get good at this. And if you’re like us, you’ll learn how to first get members in GDI consistently, then earn more as you get them in PMS and even more as you get them in PLS. Then you can bring them through these Sixteen Steps to help train them no matter what business they joined (GDI, PMS or PLS). And if you practice, you will be able to get a new person each month and teach your team how. If YOU can duplicate, then your team will learn to duplicate and your team will grow. So learn and grow first and teach your team what you learn.

Now let’s talk once more about the Power of One:

There is something called The Slight Edge. It’s kind of what it says it is. It’s a way of thinking and doing that gives you a slight edge. But here’s the catch…many people see the long road ahead and give up. But to those who just keep plugging away over time, slowly things begin to change. It’s called the “Slight Edge”. I’m going to share a couple excerpts from the book with you that will help you get an idea of how powerful duplication is:

The Water Hyacinth:
.
“The water hyacinth is a beautiful delicate looking little plant…it sports six-petaled flowers ranging from a lovely purplish blue, to lavender, to pink. You can find it floating on the surface of ponds in warm climates around the world…The water hyacinth is also one of the most productive plants on earth…If a pond’s surface is fairly still and undisturbed, the water hyacinth may cover the entire pond in thirty days. On the first day, you won’t even notice it. In fact, for the first few weeks you will have to search very hard to find it. On day 15, it will cover perhaps a single square foot of the pond’s surface…a barely significant dollop of color dotting the expanse of placid green.

On the twentieth day (two-thirds of the way to the end of the month) you may happen to notice a dense little patch of floating foliage, about the size of a small mattress. You would be easily forgiven if you mistook it for a boy’s inflatable life raft, left behind during a family picnic.
.
On day 29, one-half of the pond’s surface will be open water. On the thirtieth day, the entire pond will be covered by a blanket of water hyacinth. You will not see any water at all.”

So you can see what happens when duplication is turned ON! Now remember back to what happens when you teach your team the Power Of One and create duplication in your team. But first remember that duplication starts with you.

Well check this out: A penny’s doubled over the period of a month equals over 5 million dollars! Yes you heard me right! One penny doubled equals two. Two doubled = 4. Four = 8. Hold on, let me show you:

The idea you want to get from this is that it starts small and keeps looking small for a long time…

Look at day 15: it’s only $327 How does 327 dollars by the middle of the month turn to be 5 million in fifteen more days? Isn’t that remarkable! But that IS THE SLIGHT EDGE in action!
.
Now apply this to GDI, PMS and PLS. Think really hard about how much you make per membership. It differs in each program however, It really doesn’t seem to be making you a lot of money for you for quite a while. But add duplication to this and it eventually takes off!
.
.
Ok so let’s get practical about this and see what we can do to really double our own money. Do we really need to start with a penny? If you have to, yes. But for the sake of moving forward, try 30 cents.
.
The important thing is that you don’t touch
the earning from that 30 cents. Keep it growing and ONLY spend it on WISE investments that will allow it to DOUBLE.
.
So how fast can you make that 30c become a dollar?
.
Find some more pennies…or use the extra income source below and start making more pennies. Remember…the slight edge starts small – really small and doesn’t appear to get very big any time soon…do you see what I mean?

Look at Day 10. It’s already 1/3 of the month. Yet its only $5.12. The slight edge is all about doing the little stuff that nobody thinks will make a difference!!!!
.
Ok so let’s start at Day 5 doubling $.32
.
Also we could back up a little. Here’s what I did to double 25 cents:
I just walked in the library (or somewhere where you know somebody or where you regularly go) and asked for a quarter from a lady I knew and she gave me one. I told her our team was doing an experiment called the “Slight Edge” to see how much we could grow a few cents and would she mind helping. She didn’t mind. In fact you may be able to pull off more than twenty five cents!

On each of the Sixteen Steps, we’re going to encourage you with tools to double your money both in GDI, PMS and PLS, and additional income streams and just in practical ways too. Remember, the better you get, the better you will become at helping others and creating duplication.
